What is a church council? In our church, we have a group of volunteers who give their time to help run different committees and boards. These council members then meet once a month to discuss the activities within the church, happenings in our local community we can be a part of, and financial aspects of our church's wellbeing, among other things. The Church Council meets on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. The council is comprised entirely of volunteers- a congregational church does not run without it's parishioners! To volunteer to be on one of these committees, or even to find out how you can be a representative on church council, please click the email associated with the group you're interested in.
Christian Education: The Board of Christian Education helps plan and execute activities to help grow the faith of all persons, aged 0-100!
Deacons: The Board of Deacons runs the show. They are one of the most visible boards, with members helping with communion, greeting worshippers and handing out bulletins, organizing our flowers, as well as keeping us safe during inclimate weather and global pandemics.
Membership & Community: Board of Membership and Community is the group that makes our church vibrant from the inside out. Planning church potlucks, the Fall Festival, organizing trips to local sporting events, going Christmas caroling, and more!
Outreach: Our board of Outreach works hard to find local and global organizations where we as a church can donate our time and money. To find out more about the organizations WACC currently supports, click here!
Trustees: Our Trustees help maintain church grounds and take care of building upkeep. With a church building that is over 200 years old, there's always something to be done.
